In 29 minutes, it will be October 1st - China's National Day. The fireworks have already been cancelled due to the protesting. Who's to say that there won't be some major revolutionary action during the course of tomorrow?

But Comrade, the Revolution has been continuously glorious since 1947. Why would it stop now?

Id stay indoors, and and if you keep your car outside, id take it in your garage or put it in your backyard.

It seems that the government is in a bit of a bind right now. Are they hoping it will all just go away? How likely is it that the government will decide that enough is enough and send in the army? Does the fact that this is Hong Kong and not Beijing make any difference in the way they have responded?
Stay safe, brother.

Truthfully? I genuinely don't know. This entire debacle was entirely spontaneous - a few days ago, the words Occupy Central didn't exist in a single person's mind. It all grew and escalated so quickly that organisation on both sides is scrambled and unclear. What I do think is that China won't do anything major - yet. Since they currently have to deal with so many issues militarily, economically, politically and socially within China itself, they won't have time to deal with this issue in Hong Kong.

I would think they have to deal with it, lest it spread to the mainland. With HK's history, though, it seems like China may have to follow a softer line. But I'm afraid they won't tolerate it forever.

The spread to the mainland has been attempted, with keywords like #occupycentral having been censored. Also, Hong Kong media has been barred from entrance to the mainland and from tomorrow onwards, any mainlanders that wish to apply for travel documents to Hong Kong will be rejected, until after the Golden Week celebrations.
